The All Progressives Congress (APC) has revised its Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election, bringing in prominent political figures, including Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo.
The revised list forms part of the ruling party’s preparations for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The expanded council is expected to be formally inaugurated on Wednesday, October 14, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Under the new arrangement, Wike will coordinate the campaign in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory, while Adeleke will oversee campaign activities in Osun State. Soludo has been assigned responsibility for Anambra State, bringing the three politicians into the campaign structure despite their differing party affiliations.
The appointments stand out because Wike is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adeleke won the August 2026 Osun governorship election on the Accord Party platform, and Soludo belongs to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Their inclusion signals an effort to draw political support beyond the APC’s formal membership as Tinubu’s re-election campaign takes shape.
President Tinubu will chair the campaign council, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda serving as vice-chairmen. Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq are also listed among the council’s leadership.
Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari retains his position as Director-General of the campaign council. Senator Adams Oshiomhole will continue as Deputy Director-General for Mobilisation, while Femi Gbajabiamila, the President’s Chief of Staff, remains Deputy Director-General for Administration. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as council secretary, supported by APC National Secretary Ajibola Bashiru and Hadiza Bala-Usman as deputy and assistant secretaries.
Other appointments include Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as Director of Finance, while Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Nigeria Revenue Service Chairman Zacch Adedeji will oversee fundraising. Works Minister David Umahi has been assigned the role of Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure and Sensitisation, while former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje will head Stakeholder Mobilisation.
Fashola has been named South-West Zonal Coordinator for Stakeholders’ Mobilisation, while Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola will serve as Deputy National Coordinator I for Stakeholders’ Mobilisation in the South-West. Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu has also been appointed Deputy Director-General, South II.
The campaign’s communications team includes Keyamo, Abdulmumin Jibrin, Lere Olayinka and Segun Sowunmi. Dele Alake will retain his position as campaign spokesman, while James Faleke continues as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.
Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker Martin Amaewhule has been appointed South-South Deputy Coordinator for State Assemblies Mobilisation. Former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo will serve as Deputy Director for Sports Sector Mobilisation, while Ayiri Emami has been named Director for Special Duties. Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo and Obafemi George have also been included as campaign council advisers, with George assigned an advisory role on media matters.
The revised council reflects the APC’s effort to consolidate its political structure and coordinate mobilisation across states and key sectors ahead of the next election. With the inauguration scheduled for Wednesday, attention will turn to how the expanded team organises its campaign and builds support for Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
