Originality
Submissions must be the contributor’s original work and must not infringe copyright or other proprietary rights. Quotations, statistics, images and ideas obtained from other sources must be properly attributed. Contributors should disclose if substantially similar material has been published or submitted elsewhere.
Accuracy and Supporting Materials
Contributors are responsible for the accuracy of names, quotations, citations, dates and factual claims. Where an article discusses a judgment, legislation, report or official statement, links or copies of the primary materials should be supplied where available.
Author Information
Every submission should include the contributor’s full name, professional title or qualification, organisation where applicable, a short biography, a recent professional photograph and reliable contact details. Legal Nigeria may verify submitted credentials before publication.
Conflicts and Disclosures
Contributors must disclose any personal, professional, political or financial interest that may reasonably affect their treatment of the subject. Articles intended to promote a person, firm, product, event or commercial service may be treated as sponsored content.
Style and Presentation
Articles should have a clear headline, logical paragraphs and descriptive subheadings. Legal terminology should be explained where the intended audience extends beyond specialists. Unsupported allegations, discriminatory language and unnecessarily inflammatory expressions should be avoided.
Editorial Review
Submission does not guarantee publication. Legal Nigeria may edit accepted material for accuracy, clarity, length, grammar, style, legal risk and house standards. Where an edit materially affects the contributor’s argument, reasonable efforts will be made to consult the contributor before publication.
Corrections and Withdrawal
Contributors should promptly notify Legal Nigeria of any material error discovered after submission or publication. Published articles will not ordinarily be removed merely because the contributor later changes position, but verified inaccuracies will be addressed in accordance with our Editorial Standards and Corrections Policy.
How to Submit
Send submissions and supporting materials to legalnigeria@gmail.com. The email subject should state “Article Submission” followed by the proposed headline. Microsoft Word format is preferred.
By submitting material, the contributor confirms that it is original, accurate to the best of their knowledge and authorised for publication by Legal Nigeria.
