President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accused opposition politicians of contributing to the hunger and poverty confronting Nigerians, insisting that his administration is working to address the economic difficulties inherited from previous governments.
The President, who criticised his political opponents for campaigning on the country’s economic challenges, maintained that those attacking his administration had failed to present credible alternatives for improving the lives of Nigerians. He expressed confidence that his government’s reforms would eventually deliver economic recovery and greater prosperity.
Tinubu made the remarks in connection with the commissioning of an 81-kilometre section of the Abuja–Kaduna road, where he reiterated his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and economic transformation. He also expressed optimism that a second term in office would provide an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms and improve economic conditions across the country.
The President’s comments come amid continuing public concern over the cost of living, food prices and economic hardship. While the administration maintains that its policies are laying the foundation for sustainable growth, opposition parties have continued to question the effectiveness of the reforms and their impact on ordinary Nigerians.
