Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has criticised Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and other members of the Adeleke family over what he described as their disappointing contributions to the development of Osun State.
VeryDarkMan questioned the family’s political influence and commitment to the welfare of residents, arguing that the state deserved leadership focused on meaningful development rather than family interests. He also called for other families to be given the opportunity to govern the state.
The activist’s criticism follows an earlier controversy surrounding Governor Adeleke’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. VeryDarkMan had accused Davido of using his popularity to influence voters during his uncle’s governorship campaign while publicly expressing opposition to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He questioned the consistency of the singer’s political position in light of the governor’s subsequent support for Tinubu, maintaining that influential public figures should be held accountable for their political statements and endorsements.
VeryDarkMan had previously alleged that he rejected a ₦50 million offer to participate in a political campaign connected to Governor Adeleke. The allegation remains his account of events and has not been independently established.
His latest remarks have renewed public discussion about political accountability, celebrity involvement in elections and the influence of prominent families in state politics. The criticisms remain the activist’s opinions and allegations rather than established findings about the Adeleke family’s contributions to Osun State.
