EFCC Opens 2026 Recruitment Portal: Requirements and How to Apply

• EFCC building 1

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced its 2026 recruitment exercise, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for vacancies across its investigative, professional and skilled personnel categories. The Commission announced that applications would be submitted exclusively through its official recruitment portal, with opportunities available to candidates holding secondary school certificates, National Diplomas, Higher National Diplomas, university degrees and relevant professional qualifications.

According to the recruitment guidelines published by the EFCC on October 24, 2026, the vacancies cover four categories: Detective Superintendent (GL 08), requiring a bachelor’s degree or HND, an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate and an age range of 18 to 30 years; Detective Inspector (GL 06), requiring an ND or NCE and an age range of 18 to 27 years; Detective Assistant (GL 04), requiring at least five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings, with applicants aged 18 to 25 years; and Professionals/Skilled Workers, open to suitably qualified candidates aged 18 to 40 years. The professional category includes opportunities in law, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, engineering, finance, information technology, media, administration and other specialised fields.

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens, possess basic computer skills, have no criminal record and meet the Commission’s medical fitness requirements. The guidelines also prohibit tattoos. Candidates applying for cadet positions must be single, with a minimum height of 1.67 metres for men and 1.64 metres for women. Interested applicants are required to visit https://recruitment.efcc.gov.ng, create an account, verify their email address, select an appropriate category, complete the online application form and provide the required academic and personal information. The registration process requires a National Identification Number (NIN), and applicants are warned that multiple applications or false information may lead to automatic disqualification.

The Commission stated that applications should be submitted within one week of the commencement of the exercise, although its official announcement did not specify an exact closing date. Shortlisted candidates will be required to present printed copies of their application forms during screening. The EFCC emphasised that the recruitment process is entirely free, warning prospective applicants against paying individuals or organisations claiming to offer recruitment assistance or guaranteed employment.
