Israeli Elections: Outcome Means ‘No Difference’ to Us, Says Iran

001

Tehran has declared that the results of Tuesday’s legislative elections in Israel will bear no significance for the Islamic Republic, dismissing the high-stakes political contest as irrelevant to its stance against the Israeli leadership.

Speaking during a weekly press briefing on Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei stated that whoever emerges victorious in the tightly contested race involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not alter Tehran’s perspective.

“It makes no difference to us who, in these elections, takes the helm of a regime that has brought nothing but violence and massacres to our region,” Baqaei remarked.

The legislative polls unfold against a backdrop of severe geopolitical tensions, marked by renewed threats from Israel and the United States concerning potential military escalations. Recent escalations have seen Netanyahu assert that neutralizing the perceived threat from Iran requires targeting its government directly—including claims of instructing security apparatuses toward regime change.

Tehran has firmly dismissed those remarks as empty posturing and a reflection of political desperation, even as regional friction persists following prior conflicts earlier in the year.
