Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will secure victory at all levels in the 2027 general elections, citing the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and his government’s performance in Kano State.

Yusuf made the declaration on Thursday during the inauguration of the Kano State Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.

The governor said the APC’s achievements at the federal and state levels would form the foundation of its campaign ahead of the elections. He urged party members to communicate the administration’s accomplishments to voters and explain its plans for the future.

According to him, the party intends to conduct an issue-based campaign focused on policies, achievements and development rather than personal attacks, hate speech, name-calling or political hostility.

Yusuf urged members of the campaign council to avoid violence and concentrate on explaining the benefits of the APC-led administrations to the people, particularly in areas affecting the development of Kano State and the welfare of its residents.

He also maintained that the party was prepared to do more for Nigerians if given another opportunity to remain in power beyond 2027.

The governor described the responsibility of securing victory for the APC as a collective effort, calling on party members and supporters to strengthen their cooperation, intensify grassroots mobilisation and work together towards the party’s success.

He specifically challenged the campaign council to ensure that Kano State records more votes for President Tinubu than any other state in the country during the presidential election.

Yusuf urged members of the council to approach their responsibilities with commitment, describing them as representatives of the party who must work diligently to achieve its electoral objectives.

He further encouraged the campaign team to remain resilient in the face of opposition activities and not allow intimidation or fear to affect their mobilisation efforts. He insisted that the APC had established a strong political presence in Kano State.

The governor also appealed to party members whose names were not included in the initial campaign council list not to feel discouraged, explaining that additional appointments and subcommittees would be announced.

Among the appointments announced, Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo was named Director-General of the campaign council, while Bala Muhammad Gwagwarwa was appointed First Deputy Director-General.

Yunusa Adamu Dangwani was named Deputy Director-General for Kano South, while Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda and Senator Abdussalam Abdulkarim Zaura were appointed Deputy Directors-General for Kano North and Kano Central, respectively.

Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure was appointed Assistant Director-General for Women Affairs, while Garba Yusuf Abubakar was named Assistant Director-General for Operations.

Several political stakeholders attended the inauguration, including Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin, Kano State Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo, Senator Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila and Senator Ibrahim Kabiru Gaya.

The APC is intensifying preparations for the 2027 general elections, with its leadership urging members to strengthen party structures and mobilise support across the country.
