International Women’s Day: Adesina Adegbite,Esq, FICMC Celebrates Women in the Legal Profession and the rest of The World as He Encourages Them to Dare to Be The Best.

Happy International Women’s Day

I join the rest of the world particularly the ‘Women Bodies’ in the legal profession, that is, the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA) in celebrating women on this special day of International Women’s Day.

Women are special beings for many reasons. They light the world with love, care and affection. Women are the purveyors of humanity. Without women, there will be no reproduction. Without women, the world will be static. Without women, there will be no peace anywhere in the world. Women are the moulders of men. By their sacrifices, compassion and discipline, they make the world a better place for all of us to inhabit.

This day was conceptualized to celebrate women’s achievements; and also dedicated to advocacy towards respect for Women and protection of the Rights of Women. It is no longer a rhetoric that a Woman can do what a man can, the reality now is that Women now do in most cases things that men do better than men. The recent achievement of Dr. (Mrs) Ngozi Okonjo Iweala as the first female and first African to be appointed as the Director General of World Trade Organization (WTO), is a classical example of the great strides being made by Women. Our amazon and legal icon, Chief (Mrs.) Folake Solanke SAN few days ago celebrated 40years of adorning the silk. These kind of achievements are the reason this Day was set aside to celebrate women globally. Our Women are therefore encouraged to always aspire and dare to be the best

I specially celebrate our Women in the legal profession both in the inner and the outer bar; and my Ladies on the Bench of various hierarchy of courts in Nigeria, on this special day of advocacy and celebration of Women.
Happy International Women’s Day.
