The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ikeja Branch, has once again demonstrated its leadership and innovative capacity with the launch of its Process Service & Delivery Desk—a pioneering initiative designed to ease legal practice for its members. The service, unveiled at the Branch’s April Monthly Meeting, is the first of its kind in the history of the Nigerian Bar Association.
Conceived under the leadership of the Branch Chairman, Adeniyi Quadri, Esq., the initiative forms part of the administration’s promised deliverables and reflects a deliberate commitment to practical reforms that directly impact legal practitioners’ day-to-day operations.
Speaking at the unveiling, the Branch Secretary, Ayodeji Olabiwonnu, Esq., underscored the strategic importance of the Desk in addressing operational inefficiencies faced by lawyers. He explained that the service is structured to enable law firms outsource process service functions, thereby significantly reducing overhead costs and improving efficiency.
According to him, the Desk is not only a convenience-driven initiative but also an economically competitive one. He emphasized that the pricing model has been carefully curated to be the most affordable within the market. In a bold assurance, he challenged members to present verifiable evidence of lower rates elsewhere in the courier industry, pledging that the Desk would review and beat such pricing where necessary.
“This initiative is about easing practice, cutting costs, and supporting our members in very practical terms,” he stated. “We are confident that the rates offered are unmatched, but we remain open to review in the spirit of service excellence.”
The newly introduced Desk provides a range of services, including delivery of stamps and seals, letters of good standing, identity cards, and other bar-related documentation directly to members’ doorsteps. It also offers structured process service support, allowing practitioners to outsource these functions efficiently and reliably.
The launch of the Process Service & Delivery Desk is part of a broader wave of reforms being driven by the current administration. Under the chairmanship of Adeniyi Quadri, Esq., the NBA Ikeja Branch has embarked on several forward-thinking initiatives aimed at repositioning the branch as a model of excellence within the legal community.
Among these is the ongoing establishment of an e-filing room, designed to eliminate the persistent challenges lawyers encounter at the e-filing section of the Lagos High Court Registry. Additionally, the branch is developing a 40-man capacity modern co-working space tailored to support young lawyers with a conducive and professional work environment.
These initiatives collectively reflect a governance approach that prioritizes members’ welfare, enhances practice support systems, and strengthens the institutional brand of the NBA Ikeja Branch.
With the introduction of the Process Service & Delivery Desk, the branch not only sets a new benchmark but also reinforces its reputation as a trailblazer committed to innovation, efficiency, and member-focused leadership within the Nigerian legal landscape.
