The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has advised eligible voters experiencing delays in receiving their One-Time Passwords (OTPs) during the 2026 NBA National Elections to avoid making repeated requests.
In a notice issued to members on Saturday, July 18, 2026, the Committee attributed the delayed delivery of some SMS authentication codes to heavy traffic on the electronic voting platform.
The ECNBA advised voters who do not receive an OTP within five minutes of requesting one to log out of the voting portal completely, wait for 20 minutes and then log in again to request a fresh code.
According to the Committee, submitting multiple OTP requests could place further pressure on the system and increase delays for other lawyers seeking to authenticate their details and vote.
Voters were also advised to ensure that they have adequate network coverage, check their SMS inboxes and blocked or spam-message folders, confirm that their registered telephone numbers are correct, and ensure that the “Do Not Disturb” feature on their devices is disabled.
The Committee further urged voters to use their OTPs immediately upon receipt because the codes expire after a short period.
Members who successfully cast their ballots were advised to check their email accounts for their voting reference numbers.
For further assistance, voters may contact the ECNBA helpdesk by telephone or WhatsApp through 08144274159, 09161044495 or 08104510797.
The notice was signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the ECNBA, Aham Ejelam, SAN, and Ibrahim Aliyu Nassarawa, Esq., respectively.
