JUST IN: Court orders final forfeiture of N4.6bn jewellery, exotic cars linked to Achimugu

Dr. Aisha Achimugu 510x340 1

An Abuja High Court sitting in Apo has ordered the final forfeiture of assets worth billions of naira linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to the Federal Government.

Justice Jude Onwugbuzie granted the order on Thursday, July 16, 2026, while ruling on an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission seeking permanent forfeiture of the properties.

The ruling followed the anti-graft agency’s request for the assets, described as high-value personal effects and cash holdings connected to Achimugu, to be permanently transferred to the government.

The properties had earlier been the subject of legal proceedings before the court granted the final forfeiture order.

The forfeited properties include:

1. Jewellery valued at N4,645,170,294.90 (Four Billion, Six Hundred and Forty-Five Million, One Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Two Hundred and Ninety-Four Naira, Nine Kobo)

2. Eleven exotic vehicles worth N4,293,000,000 (Four Billion, Two Hundred and Ninety-Three Million Naira)
$50,000 (Fifty Thousand United States Dollars) in cash

3. N30,000,000 (Thirty Million Naira) in cash
