The Federal Road Safety Corps has disowned a viral recruitment notice circulating on social media directing applicants who were not shortlisted or did not receive invitation messages to report to the nearest FRSC camp for verification.
The Corps described the notice as fake and unauthorised, urging applicants participating in its 2026 recruitment exercise to disregard it completely.
According to the FRSC, the fraudulent notice instructed affected applicants to report to the nearest FRSC camp for verification on or before September 25, 2026. The Corps clarified that it had issued no such directive and warned applicants not to report to any FRSC office, camp or training institution on the strength of the circulating message.
The FRSC advised prospective recruits to rely exclusively on its recognised communication channels for authentic information concerning the recruitment exercise. Its official recruitment portal currently indicates that applications have closed and that existing applicants will be contacted regarding subsequent steps.
The Corps also cautioned applicants against making payments, providing personal information or following links circulated by unauthorised individuals claiming that they can facilitate recruitment into the agency.
It warned that persons attempting to exploit the recruitment exercise to deceive or defraud members of the public would be reported to the appropriate law-enforcement authorities.
The warning comes just days after the FRSC separately debunked claims that recruitment slots had been allocated to a federal lawmaker, reiterating that recruitment into the Corps must follow its established procedures and cannot be secured through political influence, payment or personal connections.
The Corps urged members of the public to exercise caution and verify recruitment-related information through its official channels before taking any action.
