I, Audrey Chinelo Ofoegbunam extends my warmest congratulations on the successful completion of out 2026 NBA Abuja Branch Law Week.

The event’s theme, “Safeguarding Nigeria’s Democratic Process,” was exceptionally timely as we move closer to the 2027 general elections. The conversations and insights generated during the week came at a critical moment for our nation’s democratic journey.

I commend the leadership headed by the Chairman, Mr. Steve O. Emelieze, Esq., for steering a highly successful and impactful Law Week. Your stewardship continues to advance the cause of justice, strengthen the legal profession, and position the Unity Bar as a model of excellence.

Special appreciation goes to our Law Week Planning Committee led by Dr. Chinedu Obienu, whose dedication and effort set the stage for a seamless and impactful programme. I also acknowledge the contributions of the committee consultant and former Chairman, Moses Ebute, SAN, for his continued service and support to the Bar.

Having served in elective and appointed offices of the branch over the last few years, and currently cleared to contest the office of National Welfare Secretary, I know firsthand the industry, planning, and sacrifice that went into making this event a success. Your commitment did not go unnoticed.

The distinguished faculty of speakers handled their sessions with intellectual depth, offering stimulating and enlightening insights. A major takeaway was the collective call for politicians to prioritize the welfare of citizens and place the people at the center of public policy.

This Law Week reaffirmed the vital role lawyers play in protecting democratic values, strengthening institutions, and promoting good governance. I am confident that the discussions and resolutions will contribute meaningfully to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic process.

Once again, congratulations to the Chairman, Executive Committee, Law Week Planning Committee, and all members of the Unity Bar on this successful and memorable celebration. May the momentum continue to inspire a Bar that is more inclusive, innovative, and committed to justice and nation-building.
