Celebrating Advocacy, Tradition, and Innovation with NBA Effurun Branch

I bring warm felicitations to the Chairman, Executive Committee, and all distinguished members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Effurun Branch, as you mark your 2026 Law Week holding from 30th April to 1st May, 2026.

The theme, “Advocacy Unplugged: Timeless Skills & Modern Tools,” speaks directly to the moment we are in. Law thrives on precedent, persuasion, and principle — the timeless tools of our craft. Yet today’s lawyer must also navigate virtual hearings, legal tech, AI-assisted research, and digital client engagement. Your choice of theme challenges us to bridge both worlds: to honor the courtroom instincts handed down to us while mastering the tools that will define the next generation of practice.

I applaud the Branch leadership for designing a program that refuses to choose between tradition and technology. By placing both on the same stage, you remind us that excellence in advocacy means knowing when to lean on eloquence and when to leverage efficiency.

May this Law Week renew your passion for the profession, deepen your mastery of core advocacy, and equip you with modern strategies for impact. I urge every participant to listen, contribute, and leave better than they came.

Wishing the NBA Effurun Branch a resounding and transformative 2026 Law Week.
