Goodwill Message to NBA Ikeja Branch YLF – 2026 Legal Summit
It is with great respect to the Chairman, executives and members of the Ikeja Branch Young Lawyers Forum, for the journey you’re on that I extend my solidarity to the organizers, resource persons, and delegates gathering for the 2026 Legal Summit of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja Branch.
Entering the legal profession today feels vastly different from previous generations. Young practitioners find themselves at a crossroads where traditional advocacy intersects with an aggressive, fast-moving digital economy. Building a career now requires more than studying precedents; it demands commercial stamina to navigate shifting market demands and the work of carving out a distinct professional identity.
Your theme, “The Future-Ready Lawyer: Tech, Trends, Challenges & Career Breakthroughs,” confronts the exact anxieties and ambitions defining the modern Bar. I commend the Ikeja YLF for refusing to treat technology as a standalone topic. By directly linking digital tools to personal career breakthroughs and practical legal practice, this summit gives young lawyers the clear direction, genuine mentorship, and professional leverage needed to break through institutional glass ceilings.
What stands out is your focus on the welfare of members through creating spaces where younger lawyers can candidly dissect professional challenges while actively searching for career milestones. That is how we build a resilient, independent Bar.
I am certain the insights shared and the professional networks formed over these few days will leave a lasting mark on everyone present.
Wishing you all an impactful, rewarding, and successful summit.
