Safe Havens: Women of the Bar Standing for the Vulnerable. Goodwill Message to FIDA Abia State Chapter on Law Week 2026

I say a big congratulations to the Chairperson, Executives, and Members of FIDA Abia State Chapter on your 2026 Law Week.

The theme, “Safe Havens: Legal Protection of Women and Children in Crisis,” speaks directly to the heart of FIDA’s mission. As women in the legal profession, we know what it means to stand between vulnerability and injustice. Too often, women and children bear the weight of violence, displacement, and neglect in silence. The law must not be another wall they face—it must be the refuge they can run to.

I commend Abia Chapter for keeping this cause at the forefront. When women lawyers lead with both advocacy and compassion, we remind the Bar and the public that justice is not complete until it reaches the most vulnerable. Your work strengthens not just individual lives, but the credibility of the entire profession.

May this Law Week renew your resolve, expand your impact, and remind every participant that being a lawyer is also about being a protector.

Wishing FIDA Abia a powerful and memorable Law Week 2026.

Yours sincerely,

Audrey Chinelo Ofoegbunam, Esq, ACIArb(UK), ANICArb, ACIS, AICMC, ACTI.
