The Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Maitama has ordered Jordan Wike, son of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to produce his American passport before the court in an ongoing dispute over an alleged $2.1 million land transaction.
Justice Sylvanus Oriji made the order during proceedings in Suit No. CV/008/2026, instituted by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited.
The claimants allege that they approached Jordan to facilitate the acquisition of 60 hectares of land in Abuja, comprising 30 hectares in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape.
They further allege that Jordan demanded $2.1 million for the transaction, claiming that $2 million was intended for his father while $100,000 represented his personal fee. According to the claimants, the money was handed over in September 2025, but the proposed land transaction was not completed and the money was not refunded.
Jordan has denied the allegations. At the resumed hearing, he adopted his statement on oath and rejected the claims made against him. He was represented by Ogwu Onoja, SAN.
During cross-examination, counsel to the claimants, Hamza Dantani, questioned Jordan about his whereabouts on September 26, 2025, the date on which the claimants allege the money was handed over.
Jordan told the court that he was outside Nigeria on that date. When asked which travel document he used, he said he travelled with his American passport and could produce it if required.
The claimants’ counsel subsequently applied to the court for an order directing him to produce the passport. Justice Oriji granted the application.
The court had earlier granted another application requiring Jordan to write his full name and signature five times each on a plain sheet of paper. The application was not opposed by the defence.
The case was adjourned until Wednesday for continuation of proceedings.
