Oshiomhole Signs Bill To Abolish Customary Court in Edo State

Edo State Governor, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, has signed into law a Bill to repeal the establishment of the Customary Court of Appeal in Edo State.
The governor, who signed the bill into law on Tuesday, after the State Executive Council meeting, said the Bill provides for the judges of the Customary Court of Appeal to be transferred to the State High Court.
He said the move was to increase the number of judges for speedy determination of cases, adding that when appeal cases arise from the customary courts, the chief judge will appoint the judges that will hear and determine them.
