OGUNLANA IN CALABAR FOR NBA CALABAR BRANCH BAR WEEK, VISITS AGBA JALINGO IN PRISON, MEETS JOSEPH ODOK ESQ

Ogunlana Adesina Ademola, the Chairman of Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association and presidential aspirant in the forthcoming 2020 national elections of the Nigerian Bar Association has landed in Calabar, the capital of Cross Rivers State and he is set to grace the Bar Week of the Nigerian Bar Association, Calabar Branch.

This was made known in a statement issued by Ayo Ademiluyi, the Secretary of the Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association (RAMINBA) and Director of Media, Strategy, Publicity and Communications of #RadicalBar2020.

In a related development, Mr. Ogunlana visited Agba Jalingo, the journalist currently in the custody of the Calabar Correctional Centre for charges bordering on treason and terrorism , based on his criticism of Governor Ben Ayade of Cross Rivers State Government. This is the fourth time by the records that Mr. Ogunlana is visiting Agba Jalingo.

It will be recalled that while Joseph Odok , the legal practitioner equally arrested and detained not for criticising Governor Ben Ayade has been released on bail, Agba Jalingo has not granted bail.

Mr. Odok , whose matter came up for trial on 28th day of January, 2020 also used the opportunity to meet with Mr. Ogunlana. His trial is adjourned to 7th February, 2020.

In a related development, Mr. Ogunlana has restated his #RadicalAgenda to the Nigerian Bar Association to reposition the Association as a vanguard of resistance against attacks on democratic rights and living conditions and stand with colleagues such as Mr. Joseph Odok at the face of threat , harassment or violation of their democratic rights by any agency or arm of Government.
