NSCDC parades two doctors over illegal abortion in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Sunday paraded two suspects for allegedly carrying out illegal abortion.
The suspects, according to the State Commandant of the Corps, Raji Adedoyin, specialised in carrying out abortions illegally around Tiwaloluwa Resort Area in the FHA Estate, Afao Road, Ado -Ekiti.
The commandant, while parading the suspects at the headquarters of the corps, reiterated the commitment of the corps to free the state of quack doctors.

According to him, no religion supports abortion and if it is inevitable that pregnant individuals should visit government or certified hospitals.
He said that the suspects, Elizabeth Akintoye and Dupe Akinyele, were arrested with their equipment at the point of the crime.
Adedoyin said that the accused claimed to be apprentice and confessed to the crime.
The commandant said that the Intelligence department had hectic time in arresting the suspects after receiving several complainants about the suspects.
He said that the perpetrators would soon be charged to court after the conclusion of preliminary investigation into the crime.
