NSCDC arrests 3 suspected pipeline vandals in Aba

The Abia command of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it had arrested three suspected pipeline vandals in Aba.
Commandant of the corps in the state, Dr Benito Eze, who disclosed to newsmen on Tuesday in Umuahia, said that the suspects were arrested on Friday.
Eze said that the suspected were nabbed by officers of the command, who intercepted a truck laden with 33,000 litres of crude oil at Osisioma on the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
He said that the suspects were arrested with forged waybill, allegedly belonging to Marpol Waste Reception, to beat security checks on the road.
According to him, the suspects, Godwin Nkadi (43), Stephen Peter (28) and Dauda Mutari (31) and the truck, with registration number KJA433XN, will remain in our custody until the end of investigation.
The commandant also disclosed that a 24-year old man, Martin Chukwuemeka, had been arrested in Umuahia by men of the command in connection with a stolen Passat car.
He said that the car was stolen in Umuahia by one David Ariwodo, currently in prison custody, in connivance with one Uchenna Okwubiri, in 2014.
Eze alleged that Chukwuemeka bought the car and took it to the Mechanic Village, Nazi, near Owerri, where it was hidden until it was recovered by men of the command on July 8, following a tip-off.
He said that the suspects would be handed over to the police at the end of investigation by the command.
