On behalf of the national officers and members of the the Nigerian Bar Association, the NBA President, Paul Usoro, SAN felicitates with the leadership of the Muslim Lawyers of Nigeria (MULAN) and Muslim colleagues on the occasion of the Eid-El-Fitr which marks the final break of fast and the end of Ramadan.

The NBA President celebrates Nigerian Muslim lawyers on the successful completion of this religious obligation inspite of the present strains the whole world faces due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The NBA President notes that lawyers have not been spared the harsh effects of the restrictions placed by the authorities in their efforts to contain this pandemic. The NBA therefore reassures members of the readiness of the Bar leadership to continue to find ways to ensure ease of legal practice for members.

The NBA President commends Muslims for observing the discipline mandated in the Holy Month. The observance of Zakat ul-Fitr at the end of Ramadan which ensures community distribution of wealth and the meeting of the needs of the less privileged is a spiritual act which is very apt in the present circumstance. Muslim members are therefore enjoined to continue to imbibe this gesture and other virtues of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Finally, the NBA President urges Muslim members to celebrate with restraint while following the guidelines of relevant authorities on crowded gatherings, social distancing and health etiquette.

Eid-el-Mubarak.
