The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja Branch Human Rights Committee is set to commemorate the 77th International Human Rights Day 2025 with a focused programme addressing one of Nigeria’s most urgent challenges — insecurity.
Under the theme “HUMAN RIGHTS: Our Everyday Essentials,” the event is scheduled as follows:

- Venue: The Bar Center, Old Secretariat Road, Oba Akinjobi Way, Ikeja
- Topic: “The Right to Safety and Security: Addressing Insecurity and Mass Killings in Nigeria Amidst Global Uncertainties”
The Committee highlighted that the programme will provide critical insights into the fundamental human right to safety and security — a right increasingly under threat due to rising insecurity and recurring mass killings across the country.
The NBA Ikeja Branch calls on legal practitioners, human rights advocates, policymakers, and the general public to participate in this important forum, aimed at promoting dialogue and collective action for the protection of human life in Nigeria.
