Recently, I watched a video of a former President of the NBA, Mr. Okey Wali, SAN, pouring encomiums on Joyce Oduah, FICMC, during the auspicious occasion of her 50th birthday celebrations, which held sometime in May, 2018. In that video, the Learned Silk stated unequivocally that his best friend when he was the NBA President was the NBA Treasurer, Joyce Oduah. He stated further that the landmark achievement of his administration was the construction of the NBA National Secretariat building in Abuja, for which Joyce Oduah contributed tremendously to the success of the project.
Personally, I was not flabbergasted when I saw the 26th President of the Nigerian Bar Association giving accolades to Joyce Oduah, because for many years, I have known Joyce Oduah to be a woman with a heart of gold, an enterprising leader, a loyal and valuable team player, and an altruistic person. Joyce Oduah can help any NBA President to Succeed.
After watching the video, it dawned on me that it is sacrosanct for any NBA Presidential Candidate that emerges to have a loyal, reliable, competent, visionary and corporative General Secretary. The obvious question therefore is, amongst the three Candidates for the Office of the NBA General Secretary, who can work comfortably and cooperatively with any President that emerges? Undeniably, it is Joyce Oduah.
As 1st Assistant Secretary, Social Secretary and Publicity Secretary of the NBA Lagos, she had a very cordial relationship with her Chairmen and other members of the executive committee. The innovations pioneered by her were credited to the entire executives. Similarly, as the NBA National Treasurer, she was very corporative, resourceful and reliable. She had no snag with any National Officer. She assisted her President to execute laudable projects for the NBA. She even pioneered some great reforms that also gained commendations to the entire administration.
I believe Joyce Oduah is most suitable for the Office of the NBA General Secretary and will work with any President to transform the NBA for the good of all lawyers. In view of the foregoing, I hereby endorse her for the Office of the NBA General Secretary and also solicit your support for her.
