Ibadan businessman Emmanuel Evovo docked for stealing partner’s N7m

A 32-year-old businessman identified as One Emmanuel Evovo has been arraigned before Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly stealing N7 million belonging to his business partner.

Evovo, whose address was not provided, was charged with theft by the police.

The Prosecutor, Insp Adeshina Folaranmi, told the court that Evovo committed the offence between December 2023 and 2024, at Bodija Area of Ibadan.

Folaranmi alleged that the defendant stole the sum of N7,138,000, belonging to his business partner, Mr Francis Chibuikem.

He said the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N3 million with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Sept. 15 for hearing.(NAN)
