House help to die by hanging over magistrate’s murder

An Ogun State High Court sitting at Isabo, Abeokuta, yesterday sentenced a 26-year-old house help, David Uche, to death for killing a retired senior magistrate, Mrs Olufunmilayo Timeyin.
Justice Abiodun Akinyemi ordered that the convict, who hails from Benue State and worked as a domestic staff of the late senior magistrate, be killed by hanging.
The convict was represented by Mr. Felix Dalley.
On March 28,2014, the retired chief magistrate was slaughtered by her house help in her residence in Laderin Estate in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.
The 25-year-old house help was accused of scaling the fence of the late Timeyin’s bungalow, deactivating the security system and then hacking the retired magistrate to death.
He had been employed in January 2014 and sent packing two weeks later for allegedly stealing his boss’ valuables, including phones and jewelleries
