Gunmen kidnap 4-yr-old boy in Abeokuta

Unknown gunmen, on Monday, reportedly kidnapped a-four-year-old boy identified as Stephen while playing in his parents’ compound at Laderin near Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

The parents of the boy, Dr. and Mrs. Mucipay kanu told newsmen that the suspected kidnappers grabbed their boy at about 5p.m on Monday while he was playing with the family dog in their compound.
They explained that the boy who rushed to open the gate on hearing a knock was forcefully taken into a taxi without a number plate that was parked outside the gate.
According to the father , the neighbours and other sympathizers were in hot pursuit of the taxi which sped off along the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation on Abiola way but were scared off when the suspected kidnappers started shooting into the air.
He implored anyone with useful information on the whereabout of their son to call these numbers 08033258190 and 08060577733.
Confirming the incident, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi said all police formations in the state had been notified and directed to fish-out the suspected kidnappers.
Oyeyemi expressed the hope that the four-year old boy would soon be re-united with his family.
