Two brothers identified as Ayodeji Afolabi, 21, Ayomide Afolabi, 23 and their friends: Abdulahi Olarenwaju, 20, Samson Abayomi, 26, have been docked before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for presenting themselves as white ladies living in the United States of America for the purpose of fraud.

Police charges each of the four suspects with impersonation. The Prosecutor, Insp. Elisha Tellang told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Jan.7, at about 9.00 a.m., at Apete, Ibadan.

Tellang alleged that the four with the intent to defraud people, represented themselves as white ladies living in the United States of America.

He alleged that they falsely represented themselves with foreign numbers on Facebook, gmail, goggle and tiktok.

He said the offence contravened provisions of session 484 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

They however pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mrs Moyosore Atanda, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

She held that one of the sureties must be a blood relation with the same surname of the defendants.

She thereafter adjourned the case until Feb.4, for hearing. -(NAN)
