My attention has been drawn to the very tragic incident that occured in Owerri over the weekend leading to the death of Damian Ali, a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Owerri Branch.
It is a matter of great concern that our society has become so lawless that life no longer has value. Though, it is reassuring that the culprits have been reportedly arrested by the Police. The Nigerian Bar Association must however follow up on the case and ensure that the suspects are properly prosecuted and brought to justice.
My heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and all members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Owerri Branch. Perhaps, it is high time we made preaching the sanctity of life a National Orientation Agenda.
May the gentle soul of Damian Ali rest in perfect peace.
