Cardi B Testifies In Libel Trial, Says ‘I Felt Extremely Suicidal’

Popular rapper, Belcalis Almanzer popularly known as Cardi B showed up in court to testify on a libel case

The rapper, filed a lawsuit in March 2019 accusing a popular YouTube vlogger, Latasha Kebe, of spreading fake news about her via her YouTube channel.

In the videos, the YouTuber claimed that Cardi B had been a prostitute, a cheat, junkie and contracted multiple sexually transmitted infections at the time.

Kebe’s videos included claims that the rapper had herpes and HPV.

In the lawsuit filed against the YouTuber, the rapper claimed Kebe was trying to destroy her career by spreading false statements about her, and this caused her a lot of harassment.

Taking the witness stand on Thursday at a federal jury in Georgia, The rapper disclosed how Kebe’s allegations almost destroyed her life.

She said, “I felt extremely suicidal, I felt defeated and depressed and I didn’t want to sleep with my husband. I also felt I didn’t deserve my daughter Kulture.”

The rapper and her husband Offset welcomed their daughter Kulture in July 2018.

The multiple award-winning rapper stated that the YouTuber has an audience of about 1million people and she kept spreading rumours to them.

“I suffered weight loss, migraines, and anxiety, only an evil person could do this.”

The trial has been adjourned till Tuesday.
