Immediate Past Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Abuja Branch, Afamefuna O. Okeke, Esq., has extended warm felicitations to the Chairman, Executives, and Members of the NBA Akure Branch (Sunshine Bar) as they mark their 2025 Law Week themed “Nigeria: Quest for a Utilitarian Judiciary and Roles for Stakeholders.”

Mr. Okeke described the theme as timely and thought-provoking, noting that it underscores the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in ensuring that the Nigerian judiciary functions as a true instrument of justice. He emphasized that a utilitarian judiciary must go beyond interpreting laws to upholding fairness, equity, and the overall public good.

He commended the Akure Branch for sustaining its tradition of meaningful intellectual discourse and expressed hope that the event’s deliberations would inspire positive reforms, deepen respect for the rule of law, and strengthen public confidence in the justice system.
