2023: Peter Obi meets Sokoto, Zamfara and Kebbi PDP delegates

as Kebbi and Sokoto PDP pledge support for Peter Obi

Peter Obi, presidential aspirant for the 2023 general elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met with delegates in Sokoto, Zamfara and Kebbi States in the North Western geopolitical zone of the country on Thursday May 12, 2022. While addressing Party faithfuls at the PDP Secretariat in Sokoto, Peter Obi said he will prioritise poverty reduction through tackling unemployment if elected.

The former Governor of Anambra declared that he had the capacity to fix the political and socio economic challenges of Nigeria. He said Nigerians needed to make informed decisions that would produce a president with capacity to fix the socioeconomic and political challenges bedevilling the country.

“I served as the Governor of Anambra state for eight years, I built stronger institutions in the state, promising to replicate such as president of the country when elected.

The Sokoto State Deputy Chairman of PDP, Zaki Bishiri, welcomed Mr Obi to the state, describing him as an astute economist capable of transforming the nation’s challenges in recognition of his experience. Mr Bishiri assured Peter Obi of delegates’ support toward party success in future elections. He said Mr Obi was among the few individuals that would shape Nigeria and strengthen the nation’s potential.

The Kebbi State PDP Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa Kalgo, said that he, like many other delegates, had followed Obi’s engagements as Governor and thereafter, and found him as one man so passionate about Nigeria. Kalgo said that with his knowledge of the economy and understanding of the Nigerian situation, he had no doubt about his suitability for the Job.
