The scheduled arraignment of Adeniyi Adeyemi, the acclaimed Director-General of the phantom Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), may not proceed because he failed to appear in court.
Adeyemi is expected to be arraigned before Justice Mohammed Umar on eight counts of forgery, fraud, and impersonation. The case, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, is listed for hearing.
However, when the matter came up, the defendant was absent from court, despite the case being listed as number 12 on the day’s cause list.
There are indications that the Inspector General of Police, who is prosecuting the case, may seek a bench warrant for Adeyemi’s arrest.
The charges against Adeyemi and two others were filed on November 27, 2025, by police prosecutor Wisdom Madaki.
Among those expected to testify in the case are the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Paul Emmanuel; Jeremiah Imoukhede; and Ituah Sylvester.
Other witnesses listed include officials from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), Akimbo Shola and Adamu Balongu, as well as a Deputy Superintendent of Police.
