Y.C MAIKYAU, ADESINA ADEGBITE, HABEEB LAWAL, OTHERS WIN NBA ELECTIONS

Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau SAN is anticipated to be named the new NBA President by the Nigerian Bar Association’s (ECNBA) election committee.

Others who are also cruising to victory include Amanda Ego Asagba 3rd Vice-president elect, Linda Rose Bala, the first vice president-elect of the NBA, Clement Ugo Chukwuemeka, the second vice president-elect.

Former NBA Welfare Secretary Adesina Adegbite has maintained an unbeatable lead over his rivals, while former NBA Assistant Publicity Secretary, Habeeb Akorede Lawal won the position of Publicity Secretary after a last-ditch effort.
Mr. Charles Ajiboye is in pole position to become the next assistant publicity secretary for the NBA after being pitted against Mr. Akachukwu Anthony Nwoye, his lone opponent.

Dr. Gerald Abonyi, a contender for the position of second vice president, has also questioned the legitimacy of the elections.

He expressed regret that lawyers have to participate in this kind of election in a statement provided to our reporter. “It is unfortunate that we as Lawyers have this type of Election. There is no credibility in this voting pattern. There is no attempt to make us understand. The type of lead against me is inexplicable since Midnight. All I want is an explanation. My Supporters are worried. This pattern has never been seen before. We must interrogate this. That is why we are Lawyers. My results for the Office of the NBA 2nd Vice President can never pass the test of valid scrutiny. We need to be convinced.”

Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama SAN, meanwhile, has expressed gratitude to his supporters for their “unquantifiable contributions toward my attempt to be elected as the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)  on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
