Tinubu hails lawyer Obamuroh’s elevation to Global Partnership at White & Case LLP

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian legal practitioner, Mr. Tolu Obamuroh, on his elevation to the partnership of White & Case LLP, one of the world’s leading international law firms headquartered in New York.

In a statement on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President described Obamuroh’s achievement as a testament to Nigerian excellence, competence, and global competitiveness.

Obamuroh, who becomes a Partner in the firm’s International Arbitration Practice in Paris effective January 1, 2026, is one of only three lawyers elevated globally in that practice area and the only one based in the Paris office, which is among the firm’s 46 global branches.

Significantly, he is also the sole Nigerian-qualified lawyer in this year’s global partner class — a distinction the President said embodies the spirit of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which envisions Nigerians excelling across all professional disciplines on the strength of merit and integrity.

“Tolu’s success represents the best of our new generation of professionals who continue to distinguish themselves around the world,” Tinubu said, describing his rise as “a powerful symbol of Nigeria’s growing reputation for world-class talent.”

The President noted that Obamuroh has built an exceptional career representing sovereigns and major corporations in high-value, cross-border disputes across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Under the supervision of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, he continues to serve as a trusted adviser to the Government of Nigeria in several international legal matters.

Commending Obamuroh’s dedication and professional excellence, President Tinubu urged young Nigerians to emulate his example of discipline, diligence, and service, affirming that “Nigerians can lead globally when given the platform to showcase their abilities.”

The President joined the lawyer’s family, friends, colleagues, and the wider legal community in celebrating what he called “a milestone that brings pride to Nigeria and hope to its youth.”
