
Three sales representatives on Thursday appeared before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defrauding their employer of N48. 642 million.
Defendants – Omole Temitope, 40; Ogungbe Bunmi, 34; and Oyekanmi Paul, 34, of no fixed address, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and fraud.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Akeem Akinloye, told the court that the defendants committed the offences between December 2022 and Feb. 10, 2026.
Akinloye alleged that Omole, Ogungbe and Oyekanmi obtained different cartons of milk, yoghurt and baby food worth N48, 642, 010 from their employer, Tilas Trading Store, Agbeni market, Ibadan, without remitting the money.
He said the offences contravened Sections 419 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olabisi Ogunkanmi admitted each of the defendants to bail in the sum of N7.5 million with two sureties each in like sum.
Ogunkami said one of the sureties must have a bank account balance of N7.5 million in his account, while the second sureties must be a blood relation to each of the defendants.
She adjourned the matter until May 27, for hearing. -(NAN)
