A 49-year-old man, Isaac Ifeanyi, has been remanded in custody by the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, charged with impersonation, conspiracy, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and threatening the lives of the Elemoro Tajudeen Morgaji family in Ibeju-Lekki.

The case, marked A/75/2025, stems from events in 2014 when Ifeanyi allegedly presented himself as a licensed surveyor to the Elemoro family, issuing a fraudulent survey plan.

The family, suspecting foul play, verified the document at the Surveyor General’s office in Alausa, Ikeja, where they discovered Ifeanyi’s claims were false.

Following a petition to Assistant Inspector General of Police Adegoke Fayoade of Zone 2 Command, Lagos, Ifeanyi was arrested.

Investigations led by Inspector Nwabiwe Pamela confirmed the allegations, resulting in a four-count charge against the defendant.

Police prosecutor ASP Jimoh Joseph detailed the accusations in court, highlighting Ifeanyi’s alleged deception and threats.

Despite pleading not guilty, Chief Magistrate O.O. Olatunji ordered Ifeanyi detained at Ikoyi Correctional Facility pending fulfillment of a ₦5 million bail with two sureties.

The case has been adjourned for further proceedings, underscoring ongoing efforts to address fraudulent practices in Lagos’ property sector.
