The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja branch held its monthly meeting on Monday, 6th March 2023. The meeting was well attended by members of the branch, both physically and virtually via zoom. During the Any Other Business (AOB) session, a member of the branch made a contribution concerning the use of stickers with inscriptions on lawyers’ vehicles.

The member stated that lawyers should be careful with the kind of stickers they use on their vehicles, as some stickers with inscriptions such as ‘sue that bastard’ could be seen as unprofessional and could tarnish the image of the legal profession. The member urged lawyers to use stickers that portray the profession in a positive light.

However, another member expressed concern about the new e-filing system of the Magistrate court, stating that it seems to be more expensive than the previous physical filing system. The member urged the executive to look into the matter and find ways to make the e-filing system more affordable for members.
