Rivers crisis update: 6 Commissioners quit Fubara’s cabinet

Professor Chinedu Nmom, Rivers Commissioner for Education has joined the league of officials quitting the cabinet of Governor Siminalayi Fubara in reaction to the ongoing political crises in the state.

The resignation of Nnom increased the number of commissioners who tendered their resignation letters from the cabinet of Governor Fubara on Thursday to six.

The Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu has also made public his resignation from the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

The five commissioners who resigned earlier from the cabinet are: Professor Zacheous Adango, Attorney general and Commissioner of Justice, Dex Alabo Kelly, Commissioner for Works, Inime Aguma, Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Isaac Kamalu, Commissioner for Finance and Commissioner for Special Duties, Emeka Woke.

However, Emeka Woke’s letter has not been sighted by our Correspondent at the time of filing this report.

It was believed that the gale or resignation resulted from the fallout between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, who is now the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
