Abuja, Friday, 9 January 2026.

Project Bar on Friday aligned with the wider Abuja legal community during a formal convergence at the FCT Police COMMAND Headquarters, following the tragic death of legal practitioner Princess Mediatrix Chigbo.

The convergence brought together senior members of the Nigerian Bar, leaders of professional legal associations, and representatives of various legal groups within the Federal Capital Territory, united by shared concern and a commitment to accountability.

The delegation was led by the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association Abuja Branch and included respected senior members of the profession, among them Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, our visioneer at Project Bar.

His presence, alongside other senior lawyers, reflected the collective resolve of the Bar to stand with affected colleagues and to engage relevant institutions on issues affecting the safety and welfare of lawyers and citizens.

The delegation expressed condolences, sought reassurance regarding ongoing investigations, and reiterated concerns about security within the Federal Capital Territory.

The engagement was orderly, respectful, and focused on dialogue, consistent with the Bar’s role as a critical stakeholder in justice administration.

The loss of Princess Mediatrix Chigbo has deeply affected the legal community, and Project Bar stands in solidarity with her family, colleagues, and all members of the Bar who continue to seek a safer environment for legal practice and daily life.

As investigations continue, Project Bar supports ongoing institutional engagement aimed at ensuring accountability and strengthening public confidence in the protection of life and property.

May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace,
Amen.
