The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has filed a four-count amended charge against Lagos businessman Ezeh Alexander Uche, who was allegedly on the run before his recent arrest.
According to court documents filed by the NDLEA prosecutor, Uche is accused of orchestrating multiple drug trafficking operations through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.
The agency alleged that on 5 November 2024, Uche procured one Ekeocha Anayo Nelson to export 4.40 kilograms of cocaine concealed in food items through the NAHCO Export Shed bound for the United Kingdom via Cologne, Germany.
In another incident on 12 May 2025, Uche allegedly procured Olowolehin Sunday Olabode to export 11.50 kilograms of cannabis sativa, a narcotic drug similar to cocaine, LSD, and heroin, concealed in packs of plantain chips through the same export facility.
The fourth count accuses Uche of unlawfully exporting the same 11.50 kilograms of cannabis sativa without lawful authorisation.
The offences, according to the NDLEA, violate Sections 20(1)(a), 21(2)(d) and are punishable under Section 20(2) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.
