NBA organises free prostate, breast cancer screening, others for members

As part of efforts to ensure easy access to healthcare and optimal health, the Ikeja branch of the Nigerian Bar Association will be holding a one-day free medical outreach for its members.

The event, which is billed to take place at the Ikeja NBA’s Secretariat on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 9 am to 3 pm, will feature a range of essential health services that include free medical consultations, complimentary eye tests, blood pressure test, and breast screenings, among other medical examinations.

However, major among the tests being sponsored by the Ikeja NBA, is screening for prostate cancer, which the association, in a statement, noted is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Nigerian men.

The NBA also said prostate cancer is a leading cancer diagnosis and cause of cancer-related deaths among men.

According to the association, the event is being organised as part of the response to the increasing number of medical challenges affecting its members.

NBA, while urging its members to avail themselves of the opportunity to participate in preventive healthcare and early detection exercises, said the outreach is a demonstration of the Association’s dedication to addressing the health challenges of its members and beyond.
