
The Nigerian Bar Association Ikeja Branch is set to host the 22nd Gani Fawehinmi Annual Lecture, with focus on integrity challenges in Nigeria’s justice sector.
The lecture, themed “Integrity Deficiency in the Justice Sector: Whither the Legal Profession?”, will hold on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Airport Hotel, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos. Proceedings are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. prompt.
Pastor (Dr.) Tunde Bakare, will deliver the keynote address at the event.
The lecture will be chaired by Hon. Justice Oludotun Adefopé-Okogie, while Hon. Justice Hadiza Hamisu Ali-Jos will be honoured as the Gani Fawehinmi Integrity Prize Winner for 2026.
President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, SAN, has been invited as Special Guest of Honour.
Panel discussions will feature Otunba Olumide Oniyire, SAN, Richard Akinnola, and Dr. Sam Amadi.
The annual lecture, held in honour of the late legal icon and human rights advocate, Gani Fawehinmi, remains a key platform for discourse on legal ethics, accountability, and justice sector reforms in Nigeria.
