NBA Ikeja Branch Set to Hold Annual Law Week on the 10th -17th of June, 2022. Theme – “2023: Looking Backwards to Move Forward”

The Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja branch is set to hold her annual Law Week this year 2022 from the 10th of June to 18th June, 2022.

This was made known to Legal Nigeria by the Chairman of the 2022 Law Week Committee, Chukwudi Enebeli [MCIArb.].

It is expected that the 2022 Law Week will present a unique opportunity for Legal Practitioners and other esteemed and reputable individuals to discuss burning issues that have impacted our nation in the last couple of years and appraise the Nation’s electoral precedence viz-a-viz the preparation for the 2023 election.

The theme of the 2022 law week is said to be – 2023: Looking Backwards to Move Forward

Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN would deliver the Keynote Address. Other speakers include Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, Mrs. Funke Adekoya SAN, Deacon Dele Adesina SAN, Dr. Muiz Banire SAN amongst others.

The Schedule of events are as follows:

 Friday (10th June): Press Conference & Jumat service. 

Sunday (12th June): Thanksgiving Service at Archbishop Vining Memorial Church

Monday (13th June): Cocktail Party

Tuesday (14th June):  Morning Session
Topic: Democratic Nigeria, has our lives really changed? 

Afternoon Session:
Topic: Arbitration clause and the role of our courts, the need for Judicial Intervention 

Wednesday (15th June): Morning Session:
Topic: The role of State Governance, how have we fared?

Afternoon Session:
Topic: Bar and the Bench, the relationship that should never die. 

Thursday (16th June): Alao Aka Bashorun Lecture
Topic: The Allegation of Corruption in the Legal Profession, Who is to blame?

Friday (17th June): Session for Young Lawyers
Evening: Dinner
