The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Epe Branch, is set to host its much anticipated Law Week 2025 from Friday, July 25 to Wednesday, July 30, under the distinguished name of Aare Afe Babalola, SAN. Themed “Justice in a Changing World: Human Rights, Land Management & the Rule of Law,” the week-long event promises to engage legal minds, traditional leaders, investors, and the wider public in profound conversations around justice delivery, land reform, and the evolving legal landscape.
The program lineup is a rich blend of intellectual, spiritual, sporting, and social engagements, strategically tailored to reflect the theme’s multidimensional focus.
Event Highlights Include:
- Friday, July 25 – Jumat Service:
The Law Week opens with a Jumat Service by 2PM at the Aleke Central Mosque, Epe, where prayers will be offered for the legal profession and the nation. - Saturday, July 26 – Community Engagements:
The day kicks off with a Health Walk and Environmental Cleaning from 7AM to 9AM at the Ibeju-Lekki Secretariat.
This will be followed by a Novelty Football Match at 11AM at the Lagos Business School Sports Complex, Sangotedo, and later a Beach Party by 3PM at Honeyland Beach, Museyo. - Sunday, July 27 – Celebration Service:
Worshippers will gather at Christ Embassy, Spring Valley Estate, Alasia, Sangotedo at 8AM for a Thanksgiving Service marking the Law Week. - Monday, July 28 – Stakeholder Training:
Legal practitioners, traditional rulers, and community leaders will benefit from a special training session by the Institute for Alternative Dispute Resolution (IADR) on Customary Arbitration, holding at 10AM at the Epe Recreational Centre. - Tuesday, July 29 – Thematic Plenary Sessions:
Thought-provoking lectures on Land Management in Lagos State and The Law and Procedure of Land Acquisition will be delivered at Jonaith Events Centre, Sangotedo by 10AM, featuring legal scholars, policymakers, and government officials. Simultaneously, a Domestic Violence Outreach will take place at Pobo Market, Poka, to sensitize the public on legal remedies and support systems. - Wednesday, July 30 – Press Conference & Gala Night:
The grand finale begins with a Press Conference at 3PM at the High Court Complex, Epe. The event concludes with the prestigious Branch Dinner at 3PM at Jonaith Events Centre, bringing together dignitaries, members of the Bar, and stakeholders.
