The Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau-led administration is pleased to announce that the pending applications for the registration of legal practitioners under the National Health Insurance Authority Group Individual and Family Social Health Insurance Programme (NHIA GIFSHIP) on Batches 10 and 11 have been successfully completed.
This partnership between the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) highlights our steadfast dedication to our members’ welfare. We aim to ensure members can access affordable healthcare services, including medical emergencies, reducing out-of-pocket expenses.
The NBA-NHIA GIFSHIP Programme allows members in good standing (i.e., those who have paid their Bar practice Fees and Branch dues on time) to enjoy comprehensive healthcare coverage. This includes 100% access to primary and secondary healthcare services, with just a 10% charge on the cost of drugs, and approximately 50% coverage for tertiary healthcare services across NHIA-accredited facilities, all at an affordable rate of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15,000.00) per subscriber annually.
The programme continues to gain momentum as more legal practitioners enrol their dependents and staff. We urge all paid subscribers in these batches to review the newly released enrollee register, which has been sent via email.
