The finals of the NBA-AGC Chess Competition has produced the top 5 Chess Grandmasters in the NBA, with Lagos Branch producing the winners in 3rd, 4th and 5th position respectively.
*Mr. Elo Adhekpukoli, Publicity Secretary of the Branch finished in 3rd position, Mr. Jude Iwelumo, the Assistant Secretary of the Branch Finished in 4th position, while Mr. Victor Mgboji, a member of the Branch finished in 5th position.*
Mr. Chinedu Frederick Nwaozuzu, former Secretary of Aba Branch won the competition, while Mr. Ilu Ozekhome of Ikeja Branch finished in second place.
The winners shared a prize pool of N100,000 donated by Mr. Adebola Lema, a former Secretary of the NBA Lagos Branch as follows:
Chinedu Frederick Nwaozuzu – Aba Branch 1st -N50,000
Ilu Ozekhome – Ikeja Branch 2nd – N25,000
Elo Adhekpukoli – Lagos Branch 3rd -N10,000
Jude Iwelumo – Lagos Branch 4th – N7,500
Victor Mgboji – Lagos 5th – N7,500
