Legal Nigeria Congratulates Newly Elevated SANs

Legal Nigeria warmly congratulates the distinguished lawyers who have been elevated to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC).

At its 169th plenary session held on Thursday, the LPPC—under the approval of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun—confirmed the elevation of 56 advocates and one academic, bringing the total to 57 new SANs for the year 2025.

The LPPC emphasized that the SAN rank remains a mark of professional excellence, awarded to legal practitioners who have demonstrated exceptional advocacy in the courts or made significant contributions to legal scholarship.

Among the newly conferred SANs are:

Theophilus Kolawole Esan, Fedude Zimughan, Ernest Chikwendu Ikeji, Victor Esiri Akpoguma, Leslie Akujuobi Njemanze, Akintunde Wilson Adewale, Preye Agedah, Omamuzo Erebe, Hannibal Egbe Uwaifo, Olumide Ekisola, George Ejie Ukaegbu, Oromena Justice Ajakpovi, Tairu Adebayo, Emeka Akabogu, Adeolu Olusegun Salako, Adetunji Oso, Oyinkansola Badejo-Okunsanya, Aminu Sani Gadanya, Ikechukwu Raphael Uwanna, Ayodeji Joseph Ademola, Lawal Garba Hudu, Ibim Simeon Dokubo, Shakeer Adedayo Oshodi, Oluwole Tolulope Jimi-Bada, Chinyere Ekene Moneme, Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, Bidemi Ifedunni Ademola-Bello, Temilolu Femi Adamolekun, Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, Adedayo Gbolahan Adesina, Taiwo Azeez Hassan, Olufemi Olubunmi Oyewole, among others.

From the academia, Prof. Chima Ubanyionwu was also conferred with the rank, making him the only successful candidate from the academic community this year.

The swearing-in ceremony for the 57 new SANs is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 29, 2025.
