Atiku Abubakar, the Former Vice President of Nigeria, has claimed that the suspension of Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers state was illegal.
Atiku on his social media page on Thursday made this claim, stating that the president should not suspend a democratically elected leader.
Although, Fubara was reinstated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday, Atiku claimed that the initial acts was illegal.
“The suspension of the Rivers State Governor and the State House of Assembly was unconstitutional when it was done six months ago and is still illegal today. President Tinubu had no power to suspend a democratically elected governor and state lawmakers. The Rivers shenanigans only signpost the dictatorship of the Tinubu administration,” he said.
