FIDA Ikorodu Branch’ Maiden Law Week in Retrospect – By Ore Sotomi

The grand finale was a great feast and an exclusive imperial dinner Banquet where great fidans had the opportunity to experience the Full-on social scene at Aquila Event Centre Ikorodu Lagos State being the 29th June,2022.

The Lecture had in attendance key stakeholders and distinguished personalities such as ANTHONIA TITLAYO AKINLAWON, HON. JUSTICE SHERIFAT SOLEBO and great men and women of the bar.

Justice SHERIFAT SOLEBO firstly adviced the children who are one of most vulnerable citizens to face their studies and not to experiment with sex as she inquired if they know their rights and most of them responded mentioning the different rights.The key note speaker also discussed about couples discussing about  the number of children they intend to have and should only bring forth children they can carter for. She also advice women who are one of the vulnerables not to endanger their lives in giving birth to children to satisfy the desires of the man.


ANTHONIA TITILAYO AKINLAWON, SAN.  Brought to the notice of all the attendees of the auspicious event that Elderly/Old Men and Women also form a large sum of the most valuable in the society and their interests and state of health should be well taken care of. That the practice of abandoning our old parents should stop.

She adviced that old people should have foster children or relatives nearby to keep their company in order to avoid been lonely at old age. 

Another speaker; Pastor Anthony Ebeh Esq. emphasize the importance of a good pension plans or welfare packages for the aged citizens in our society.

He slated that most of them are affected by the corruption in our system thereby allowing the aged vulnerables to suffer greatly before they can have access to their retirement funds or pension fund.

 The speakers were engaging as the theme for the law week: Protecting The Rights Of The Vulnerable In Our Society was cerebrally rewarding.
